August 4, 2017 - Tangier Island, VA - Captain Stephen Thomas aboard the ship of the same name that he uses to ferry passengers to the Cheseapeake Bay's Tangier Island 7 days a week from May to October. He steers the ship with his foot while narrating about the sigths to the passengers. After 9/11 Captain Thomas he piloted the boat up to New York to assist commuters on their daily commutes when subway service in lower Manhattan was shut down. The boat has been in service since 1982.
